Claude Code and Codex on the same codebase
Claude and Codex are good at different things. Moneypenny runs both on your own machine, on the subscriptions you already pay for, and lets them work on the same repository without stepping on each other.
Each task gets its own worktree
Every coding chat runs in its own git worktree and branch. A Codex chat can build a feature while a Claude chat fixes a bug in the same repository, and neither sees the other's half-finished edits.
Bots that talk to each other
Make a Claude bot for product thinking and a Codex bot for architecture, or whatever split suits you. Mention @Architect in the Product bot's chat and both answer in one thread. Each bot keeps its own agent, model and memory.
Switch agent mid-task
If one agent is stuck, switch the chat to the other in the composer and carry on in the same worktree, with the same conversation.
Your subscriptions, not API bills
Claude turns run on your Claude plan and Codex turns on your ChatGPT plan. Moneypenny removes API keys from the agents' environment, so a turn is never quietly moved to pay-as-you-go billing. See subscriptions and billing.
Compared with a multi-agent terminal or web UI
Several tools put Claude Code and Codex in panes side by side. Moneypenny goes further: the agents are persistent bots that ask each other questions, a coordinator can run a whole factory of chats toward one goal, and you can review all of it from your phone.
